Jai Mummy Di : Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall starrer is a romantic comedy

The talented Sunny Singh, son of award-winning action director Jai Singh Nijjar, began his career in Bollywood with Madhur Bhandarkar’s romantic-comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji in 2011. He was later seen in Luv Ranjan’s romantic film Akaash Vani in which he played the role of an abusive husband. It was with Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, both alongside Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha, that he rose to prominence. His characters in both the films were loved by the audience and he was praised for his dialogue delivery.

The actor is currently gearing up for his next release, opposite Pyaar Ka Punchnama fame Sonnalli Seygall, titled Jai Mummy Di. Also featuring the talented Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon, the romantic comedy is directed by Navjot Gulati and has quite an interesting story line. It revolves around trials a couple has to go through due to the conflicting dynamics between their respective mothers. It is stated to be a light-hearted family comedy.

Today, Sunny took to his social media handle to share the first motion poster of the film. In the short clip, two hands come together to form a heart, however they are pulled away by what looks like their mothers’ hands. The release date of the film has also been revealed to be 17th January 2020. Along with the post, the actor has written the caption: “Mohabbat Ki Dushman Mummiyon Ke Liye Zor Se Bolo #JaiMummyDi! Releasing on 17th Jan, 2020!
Sonnalli Seygall and Sunny Singh were last seen together in the hit film Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 directed by Luv Ranjan. The actor’s had amazing on-screen chemistry and were loved by the audience. While Sunny went on to give another major hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety alongside co-stars Nushrat Bharucha and Kartik Aaryan, Sonnalli made a special appearance in the film as Sonu, aka Kartik’s date.

Well there is good news for fans! Sunny and Sonnalli are coming back together on the big screen once again with the light-hearted family comedy Jai Mummy Di. The film, directed by debutant Navjot Gulati and produced by Luv Films, will also feature Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon in pivotal roles. The film is said to revolve around the dynamics a relationship goes through because of the boyfriend and girlfriend’s mother.

Jai Mummy Di was all set to hit theatres on 12th of July this year. However, according to the buzz, the filmmakers are thinking about changing the release date as Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 is releasing on the same day. Only time will tell when the movie will finally be releasing. This year, we have witnessed many filmmakers changing the original release dates of their film to avoid competition with movies starring big celebrities.
